Individualizing Treatment Strategies for the Management of Osteoporosis

Program Overview

This CME/CNE program is derived from content presented at the Congress of Clinical Rheumatology 2019. The expert faculty will provide clinicians with an update regarding the treatment and management of osteoporosis. This includes an overview of osteoporosis in rheumatic diseases and the clinical relevance of current and emerging therapeutics in the osteoporosis treatment landscape. The faculty will discuss the role of patient education and diet in improving patient care and quality of life. Best practices for engaging the healthcare team to optimally treat and manage patients with osteoporosis will be reviewed through an interactive, interprofessional panel format.

Target Audience

Rheumatologists, physicians, internists, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare providers that are involved in the management of osteoporosis

Learning Objectives

  1. Apply the role of osteoporosis in rheumatic diseases, including treatment strategies to improve outcomes
  2. Analyze clinical trial data for current and emerging therapeutics for the treatment of osteoporosis
  3. Collaborate in developing individualized treatment strategies to improve the quality of life in patients with osteoporosis, with an emphasis on the role of diet in modern day treatment
