Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nursing professionals, pharmacists, psychologists, social workers, rehabilitation specialists, dietitians, researchers, advocates, and other members of the healthcare team involved in the management of patients with MS including those who conduct research in MS or who have a special interest in MS and related disorders.

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC) and AcademicCME. CMSC is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Credits are available for physicians, pharmacists, nursing professionals, PAs, psychologists, social workers, and registered dietitians.

Discuss the current role of fluid and imaging biomarkers to support diagnostics, differential diagnostics, and MS disease monitoring and progression

Review the current parameters for MS disease clinical course from prodrome to progression

Analyze the most current clinical trial data on the safety, efficacy, and tolerability of approved and emerging therapeutic advances for the treatment and repair of multiple sclerosis

Design therapeutic plans to incorporate transition and sequencing of treatments, family planning considerations, symptom management, and cognition, including topics for debate, better treatment options for progressive disease, and neuroprotection

Evaluate optimal MS patient comprehensive care plans utilizing the multi-disciplinary interprofessional team, and medical literacy-consistent patient education

Analyze the best practices for virtual healthcare delivery to manage patients with MS when in-person care is impractical or not possible

Review in detail the optimal role of neurology advanced practice providers to improve outcomes in patients with multiple sclerosis
