The Benefits and Long-Term Effects of Presymptomatic Treatment

Program Overview

In this module, Julie Parsons, MD, along with Claudia Chiriboga, MD, MPH, course chair, will review the benefits and long-term effects of presymptomatic treatment for patients with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). The faculty will discuss the benefits of early disease diagnosis and how to implement presymptomatic treatment in infants with SMA. Upon completion of this 30-minute module, clinicians will gain insight on the importance of early diagnoses of their patients with spinal muscular atrophy.

Target Audience

Neurologists, pediatricians, geneticists, primary care physicians, nurses, NPs, PAs, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers involved in the management of patients with SMA
