Strategies for the Long-Term Treatment of SMA to Optimize Patient Outcomes

Program Overview

In this module, Perry Shieh, MD, PhD, along with Claudia Chiriboga, MD, MPH, course chair, will review strategies for the long-term treatment of SMA to optimize patient outcomes. The expert faculty will discuss long-term efficacy and safety data in order to develop effective SMA patient management strategies with the interprofessional team and identify available resources for optimal care while the health system is disrupted by COVID-19. Upon completion of this 30-minute module, clinicians will gain insight into the management strategies for patients with SMA, incorporating the interprofessional team.

Target Audience

Neurologists, pediatricians, geneticists, primary care physicians, nurses, NPs, PAs, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers involved in the management of patients with SMA
