An Interprofessional Team Approach to Deliver Optimal mCRC Patient Care that Addresses Disparities and Patient Education

Program Overview

In this module, Jamie Faber, PA-C and Tracy Trevino, BSN, RN, along with Scott Kopetz, MD, PhD, course chair, will highlight the role of the interprofessional team in administering optimal patient education and promoting compliance. Practical recommendations for addressing disparities in patient care will also be provided. Further, the expert faculty will discuss side effect management and best practices for mitigating adverse events. Upon completion of this 30-minute module, learners will be equipped with current, team-based techniques for providing comprehensive care and impacting patient outcomes.

Target Audience

Community oncologists, oncologists, advanced practitioners, oncology nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with colorectal cancer

Learning Objective

  1. Explore the growing literature on inequities in the care of CRC based on societal, economic, racial, and cultural determinants
  2. Develop therapeutic plans and monitor adverse side effects with the multidisciplinary oncology care team to improve patient outcomes
